EVERYONE who is outraged by this- and not just in Alabama- print up some copies of the Ten Commandments and put a copy EVERYWHERE you go. Walls, telephone poles, libraires, stores, supermarkets. Tape them up, tuck them in magazines or on shelves. Sure, they will be taken down- but KEEP doing it. And make signs for your private places too- your lawns, your businesses, your car windows. Post the Ten Commandments EVERYWHERE. Everyone who is outraged- start tomorrow. I like this idea. And for the sectarians who were snippish that Moore's "version" of the 10 Commandments wasn't "their" version - put up all the versions. No biggie.

Actually, I read their statements. They are the ones who have seriously perverted the intention of the Libertarian party. I was a Libber, but they drove me back to the (R).

This is NOT a nation of Christians. This is a nation of people of all religions. You can worship your God, no one is saying that you can't. So you say it's time to take the country back from non-Christians. Exactly who would you mean by that? Perhaps Manzanar is still available for "non-Christians."

Just one more reason why Alabama was right to secede from the union...this is tyranny at its finest...

BTw, I apologize for my burning the courthouse comment. That was stupid.

>>>>Are you saying that you want the U.S. to be a dictatorship ruled over by the Supreme Court? What the court rules, goes? >>>Well, yes, I guess. What is your solution?
>>I'm rather partial to the idea of a constitutional republic. Guess I'm old fashioned.
>That's a cute response, but it avoids the question. In fact, it changes the subject.
People that can't tell the difference between a dictatorship and constitutional republic will end up with a dictatorship.

Good point.
But, do you agree with the current interpretation of a separation of church and state due to the First Amendment?

Wow, that Moore guy sure sounds like a wacko, serving his country like that and all. /sarcasmMoore is probably informed by his service in the Army. We were taught that that obeying an unlawful order was not required and in fact you were expected to do so.
I believe we all took the same oath when we enlisted.
"I DO SOLEMNLY SWEAR (OR AFFIRM) THAT I WILL SUPPORT AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES AGAINST ALL ENEMIES, FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC; THAT I WILL BEAR TRUE FAITH AND ALLEGIANCE TO THE SAME; AND THAT I WILL OBEY THE ORDERS OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND THE ORDERS OF THE OFFICERS APPOINTED OVER ME, ACCORDING TO REGULATIONS AND THE UNIFORM CODE OF MILITARY JUSTICE. SO HELP ME GOD."

I'm addressing this to you only because you seem to be the most vocal about the issue. But it's really addressed to all who agree that the Ten Commandments shouldn't be displayed. I have no problem with the 10 Commandments being displayed in public buildings.
They are displayed in public buildings all over the country with not a peep out of the courts.
If Judge Moore had displayed them in the manner that they're displayed in all those other public buildings, we'd be talking about Arnold Schwarzenegger instead of at each other's throats over this.

I was approaching it from a demographics/census point of view. Not intended to offend.
Got it. Thanks for clarifying.

Time for you to respond to my historical evidence that Jefferson is not the separationist hero you think he is.Well, maybe after the race on TNT, because that's where I'm going now. But the whole issue is a red herring. I've stated repeatedly that my principle objection is to the defiance of the judicial system by a judge.
But sure, I'll get back to that, too. Don't get violent while I'm gone.
