There are many conflicting statements in this report. He was a great guy - his girlfriend - with 4 kids and one on the way called the cops and said the man was violating an order to stay away - ran to the dying man and kissed him.

Am I missing something in this whole story?

No seems to be denying he was swinging a weapon at the cops. That is enough to shoot him right there.

Too Bad. He dead. sounds like he lived as a fool, and he died as a fool. One less piece of trash.

Moral of the story? Don't go after the cops with a weapon. You will get shot. Only stupid people get themselves shot dead like this.

The reporter sure missed something. I can't believe the editor let this go.

It's not at all surprising that the wife/girlfriend would run to him and kiss him. There's often a bizzare love/hate thing in an abusive relationship. It's also not unusual for an abusive spouse to be a really nice person most of the time.
