Per FOX, Bush will be commenting at 845pm

Bloomberg: hours, not minutes, before power is back; no reason to think it's terrorism.

Different times. Just read all the tin-foil hat theories on this thread. The President needs to speak to a jittery nation (and declare war on Canada LOL)

Past presidents probably didn't speak during past power outages because the U.S. wasn't under threat of terrorism during past power outages.
Meanwhile my son just flew into Manhatten, wish I could talk to him. I was talking to him as the power went out, so at least I know he wasn't on the subway or in an elevator.

I think since 9/11..some people need to be reassured when something big happens. At least 911 and 311 are working in NYC.I doubt the President will speak.Bloomberg is sounding up...if everyone turns off the A/C.power will come back sporadically in a matter of hours(I report hopefully).

Bush to speak? I don't remember any presidential addresses over previous power outages. No, he was already scheduled to speak before this even happened. Besides, I don't know it would do any good to talk about it when the folks it's affecting don't have electricity to watch the speech.
