I also USED to carry a small pocket knife, but that had to go, too. My money clip had a small pair of scissors that folded into it, that had to go, too. My key "fob" was a steel ring 4" in diameter (allowed the keys to be an effective weapon when the ring was held the fingers of one hand and the keys swung, it also meant that I could put my keys on my wrist quickly thus giving me free hands for my children), that, too, is now gone. As a woman and mother I carried these for protection and personal comfort. Now, when I travel I can't easily handle any of the common emergencies because all my gear is considered too dangerous.

AMEN sister! I still carry my small swiss army knife on my keys. Practically dared the security guard at Carowinds amusement park to take it away from me recently. Told him I was there as a chaperone, a single woman travelling alone with a crowd of large teen-age boys. He let me keep it.
