I don't know if it is true this time, or not, but the 1977 blackout was EXACTLY precipitated by a lighting strike on agiant transmission line and junction.

I remember that, Yonkers was out also. I know we were all shitting our pants with Son of Sam and with no lights it made the situation just worse. Memories!
