Olene Walker is pretty much a nonentity.

The race to succeed her will be very crowded. There are already over a dozen likely candidates.

The most conservative are:

Senator Parley Hellewell
and
Speaker Marty Stephens

Either would be good, IMO, but at this point I would go with Hellewell. I think he has the better record.

I think Sen. Hellewell would be a great choice for governor. He's a down-to-earth guy and has a good heart. He truly wants to help the "little" guy.

He anounced he was running last March and is the most conservative person running. He is very constitutionally minded and stands for all the things that I believe in--parental choice in education, advocates states' rights, protection of property rights, privitizing government functions where possible, etc.

I guess we can expect that the media will ignore him like they do to all the good conservatives. They've already chosen their favorites--Scott Matheson, Jr. and Jon Huntsman, Jr.--that they will tell us we should elect.
