If McClintock is elected, his vow to void the power contracts will be a major broken promise. I really question his judgment in making that a major plank.

One of Davis's biggest failings was his handling of the energy crisis. What McClintock ought to be promising is to remove barriers to new plant construction, and to replace the PUC.

Of course, that would infuriate the left, so that's why he chose instead to make a promise he can't keep. Everyone wants lower power bills. It's a winning plank.

Except that it's false.

I agree entirely with your post. When I saw his line about voiding the contracts, I said "Huhhhh?".

I don't know if there's any point in him trying not to infuriate the left. Nobody on the left will vote for him anyway.

I'm going to his campaign event tonight and will hopefully file a report.
