CALLING ALL Arnold Schwarzenegger Supporters:
I am announcing the creation of ArnoldGovernor.net . I have reserved the domain, but the site is up right now at a temporary URL which can be seen here (www.elephantparty.com). I am a Californian and a conservative - and I can say with certainty that Arnold represents the best chance we have of claiming California's governorship. I am posting this site for your review.
First, the others in the race. Bill Simon and Tom McClintock are both fine men, but they have lost important statewide races in the past. Simon lost a race against Davis last year which should have been a cakewalk given Davis' record. Most political analysts agree that Simon ran one of the worst campaigns in recent memory. McClintock is a virtual unknown statewide (let's not get fooled by our own echo chamber). The KEY to remember is that we have
Only 2 months (8 weeks) until Election Day. There is NO time to run someone who Californians have rejected in the past or a virtual unknown. For those who have leaned towards either of them, I'm appealing to your sense of reason to get behind someone with the best shot of winning. Now, why should we elect Arnold?
Arnold is a fiscal conservative but moderate otherwise. His stance on abortion will matter less than you might think- that's a matter for Supreme Court justices which the California governor has no say about. He is pro-business, pro-entrepreneurship, and tough on crime (witness his Proposition 49 which aims to reduce juvenille crime - a major, largely unaddressed component of crime). He is an "American by choice" and is very patriotic. People look at him and think "It's okay to be a Republican". With Schwarzenegger pulling a Total Recall on Grey Davis, Bush may actually find that California is friendly territory in 2004.
I am looking for pro-Arnold supporters to help:
1. Pitching Arnold's candidacy
2. Graphics design- create compelling visuals that are pro-Arnold or anti-Davis
3. Anyone else that wants to be pinged for pro-Arnold events.
4. Coming up with good one liners, spin, updates, opposition research, etc.
Let's team up! Thanks!!
Once I get your suggestions, I will update the site and in a few days, it will be at ArnoldGovernor.net . Thanks all Freepers for your help.

.......McClintock is the only candidate who CAN save California. Ah-nold will keep on with failed Davis liberalism. You guys need to WAKE UP !........
I suggest you wake up and open your ears and eyes, you are travelling like a charging RHINO with tunnel vision...I have stated before I will wait to make up my mind until I hear the candidates plans...FYI liberalism is not the only problem in California, we need someone with guts enough (and in power) to do something about the illegal alien problem. I want to hear the candidates positions on 187 and illegals...in the meantime I suggest you stop and think what would happen to California if Cruz Bustamonte is elected, he may be the one person worse than Davis, and he is a potential winner....McClintock can't save California if he can't get elected, and right now it doesn't look good for him...lets hear some positions and see some polls before we slit our throats we have 60 days of the silly season to sort things out.. before we punch the chads..I voted for Simon not Riordan last time around and see what it got..more Davis....If I thought a real conservative could get elected I would of course back them, but this is California....about to be taken over by Mexico...Aztlan

I trust that man to get the state's house in order ahead of any other declared candidate. You think Ah-nold will do a better job ? You're whistling Dixie.

"I'll support Arnold over some assclown like McClintock."
Any idiot who makes a remark like that clearly knows nothing. Only liberal DU'ers support Ah-nold over a REAL Republican like McClintock.
"Simon anyone?!?!?"
Simon needs to follow Issa's lead and get out and endorse Tom McClintock. No more f*cking RINO liberals.

Hey, sugar, where do you get off calling Ah-nold a "Republican" ? You have to be one to get called one. If he's a Republican, so is Maxine Waters. How much are they paying you to shill for the womanizing liberal ?

I'm telling it like it is. All these people that think Ah-nold the Kennedy is going to turn the state around is in for a shock. Ever heard of Michael Bloomberg, wunderidiot of New York City ? Not a dimes' worth of difference. Ah-nold will sign off on EVERY trendy leftist piece of legislative bilge be it economic or social. Real Conservatives CAN get elected if we stop kneecapping them. Simon ran a lousy campaign against incredible opposition and still did remarkably well, but I'm not supporting him. If you think Ah-nold will stop "Aztlan" from happening, you got another thing coming. He'll learn Spanish and change his title to Gobernador. Vaya con Dios.

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I'm mainly looking forward to some good TV as the recall moves on. From what I've seen of this McClintock fellow, he's a loon, but that's OK because he won't be Governor anyway.
Whatever one-issue republicans think, I'd say the smart money is that Arnold may just in fact be the next Governor of California. I'd say either get used to it or decide which democrat you want vote for to keep him out of there. It looks like the race is his to win or lose, and if he's beaten it *won't* be by another republican.
So have you decided which democrat to vote for?

A "real" conservative will never, ever, be elected again in California. I don't like it much either but that's the way it is.

You've got to stop listening to the Ah-nold and Riordan disciples and the leftist media. McClintock is not only NOT a loon, but the only one with a solid plan to put the state back on a sound fiscal track. He's the one that stood firm against the 'Rats in the State Senate in preventing an even worse budget from being rammed down the throats of Californians.

I don't know what this one-issue business is, but I think asking for a remotely across-the-board right-of-center candidate is not too much to ask. And you can dress up a 'Rat pig any way you like, but it's still a 'Rat pig, and Ah-nold is a 'Rat pig pretending to be a Republican.
"So have you decided which democrat to vote for?"
I'll tell you which Democrat I WON'T vote for, and that Democrat is Ah-nold.

And to that, I say an unequivocal bull$hit. Conservatives can win when they run STRONG UNAPOLOGETIC CANDIDATES. McClintock is just that man, that's why he did better than ANY OTHER REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE running last year. Conservatism isn't a loser, but RINOs are. Case closed.

Vote for me or I will terminate you...yadda, yadda, yadda
When I saw 'Pumping Iron', his father died while he was touring for the Mr. Universe (Olympia?) title and when they told him about it he said he couldn't come to the funeral because the title was too important to him!
Now that's some son!
Arnold's father was a nazi who fought in Russia. I believe what Mike Savage said about children of ill repute parents who usually try to compensate for that by being ultra, bleeding heart liberals.
He also advocates more gun control.
Kennedys!
I wouldn't trust Arnold as far as I could throw him.
To: jagrmeister
Go, go, go.
When will the Right learn? We can purify ourselves and lose everytime. Perpetual bombthrowers, but never elected to govern.
You are exactly right, and some here might learn sometime. We must learn how to win.
If WE don't win, the Democrats win. What's the benefit of that?
To: jagrmeister
Add me to your Arnold ping list please.
To: fieldmarshaldj
These people are the definition of "sheeple". How do you think they would react if people were saying they were going to vote for Julia Roberts or some other leftist because of their celebrity status.

Wow...talk about overkill. Hell, if you were using Mozilla, you could have just right-clicked on the image and selected "Block all images."
But hey, you're entitled to be a chimp if you want.

Anybody that thinks that the State of California can simply violate the terms of contracts without any repercussion is a loon.
Yes, the energy contracts are a bad thing. No argument there, but defaulting on the contracts is worse.
But it just doesn't matter. He is not going to win, even if BOTH of the republicans in California show up to vote. That state is history. It has crossed the boundary to totalitarianism. A conservative has a better chance of being elected in Cuba.

Ah-nold isn't "WE", he's "THEM", and how do "WE" get a Republican agenda across with a Democrat pretending to be one enacting "THEIR" agenda ? When will the RINO apologists learn ? How many more loser liberals do they intend to shove down our throats to make the party indistinguishable from the 'Rats ?

It's time to cut the state's losses, period.
"A conservative has a better chance of being elected in Cuba."
If you keep repeating falsehoods, do you think it will be believed ? This is a great mantra of the left. They repeated this garbage 37 years ago with Reagan.
