I do not believe I'm missing the point at all.

Over the years, I have watched what was thought evil be thought "good" and good be thought "evil". So much so that today's news informs us that the definition of marriage should be a union between two ? of anyone. Two men, two women. So now the definition of husband or wife is no longer valid? Johnny has two daddys, the rich are evil, smokers commit the unforgivable sin, and if you have any values at all, we'll take you down. And if you have an opinion, you are the evil one or the bigot or missing the point.

I am saying that this was only news, because someone wanted to take down Bennett. It was a warning shot to inform any conservative to watch who they oppose on the liberal side, because they will be taken down. Those who defended Clinton and everything he did, are screaming the loudest condemning Bennett. And will condemn any conservative who does not also condemn Bennett as a hypocrite.

This is a game for the liberals. Do you think his gambling was revealed because it might harm him or his family? Of course not! It was revealed precisely because Bennett opposed the actions of Clinton. This is a "gotcha" for them. "see, your people are just as corrupt as we are. That ought to shut you up about what the liberals do.

You can't be offended by anything we do because one of yours is corrupt.”

Well, I for one, am certain that I am not perfect. I am also sure that you are not perfect. I'll even go so far as to say that is a fact. I don't even know you but I can say that because I know it to be true.

I speak from experience. I was a democrat for 40 years, and know the tricks of the trade. Clinton cured me of that.

Please notice that a democrat can argue any position and any side because they have no morals, or virtuous leanings. There is no right or wrong. For or against is not the issue. The issue is they are right no matter what they say or do, and you are wrong because you don't wish to have their beliefs foisted on you, and the issue is really winning at any cost.

A liberal will call you every name in the book and do so self-righteously, and then condemn you if you speak up to say they are mistaken, even if what they are saying is a lie.
Of course, this is my opinion, and you don't have to agree with me, but I find the liberal media’s method of outing conservatives to be very transparent.

I violently agree that the liberals are using gambling to take down Bennett, and you make a decent case (impossibility of perfection) to defend him. I agree that Bennett should not be perfect and he is an excellent speaker with good ideas.

That said, it is clear that you, he and liberals don't understand the root of his sin. His gambling is not a sin, he can burn his money if he wants to. But his Vanity as a high roller is a sin and the worst kind of sin. He could easily come clean, he could just say hey, I liked the attention and ego trip of throwing around big bucks. He could say he's sorry about that display of Vanity and he will henceforth burn his money or give it away or save it or whatever. Just as long as he doesn't use it to maintain his high roller habit.

Thanks for voicing your opinion so eloquently! I agree - Bennett's biggest issue is that he was considered a voice of morality and he couldn't keep the standard he had set himself (although I don't remember him railing against gambling). I have many standards which I have set for my self...and I confess that I fall short of those standards too often to admit. (But it doesn't change my standards...I just get back up and start over).
