So sin gets the credit for God's glorious work of redemption. That's pretty twisted. And unbelievable arrogance, masked in pious humility.

Redemption comes from God through Jesus and the belief that Christ died for our sins and that he is who he claims to be.

If I were not a sinner than I would not need him to have died for me.

Its not sin by itself but each one own sin on an individual basis.

Only Jesus knows my heart and only Jesus knows how pious and arrogant I am.

Have you laid your sins on Jesus?

To: right way right
Redemption comes from God through Jesus and the belief that Christ died for our sins and that he is who he claims to be.

But confessing you need redemption and acknowledging Jesus died on the cross for sins comes right to the line but doesn't cross it. "The devils also believe, and tremble" (James 2:19).

You can confess you need a ride to work all day, and you can acknowledge your neighbor has a car and is perfectly willing to take you to work. But it's all empty talk and sentiment until you actually ask your neighbor for a ride.

The real key to salvation is to ASK! To receive it. Acknowledging you're a sinner, to invite Jesus into your heart to be your Saviour and Lord.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

If I were not a sinner than I would not need him to have died for me.

Its not sin by itself but each one own sin on an individual basis.

Of course that is not what I was commenting on. What I was commenting on was the misplaced, misguided sentiment that because one is a sinner, one can piously take personal blame -- responsibility -- for having crucified Jesus Christ.

There are so many things wrong with that it boggles the mind.

Have you laid your sins on Jesus?

I have received Jesus Christ as my Saviour. When I invited Him into my heart, all my sins were laid on Him, and righteousness was imputed to me (Romans chapter 4).

Whether I have laid my sins on Him is a separate issue, and one that I, being human, struggle with regularly. We all have the tendency to pick up our sins again and feel the guilt, over and over, when the command for us is to wash them away, calling on the name of the Lord (1 John 1:9, Acts 22:16), to have a clear conscience before God and men.

So it is something we must choose to do on practically a daily basis, a state we must ongoingly choose to maintain. Paul acknowledge this ongoing choice, in that he said "herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men" (Acts 24:16).
