To: Dog Gone
This thread has more info than another one I was checking out. Have not read all of this thread so this may be a repeat. I have the list of absent senators from the legislative journel:

There were 13 absent. I'm going back and get names and cities they represent.
PS: I couldn't find this info just flipping through the Houston Chronicle. Dallas paper wanted me to register -blah on that.

The Senate met at 2:00ip.m. pursuant to adjournment and was called to order by the President.

The roll was called and the following Senators were present:Armbrister, Averitt, Brimer, Carona, Duncan, Estes, Fraser, Harris, Jackson, Janek, Lindsay, Nelson, Ogden, Ratliff, Shapiro, Staples, Wentworth, Williams.

Absent:Barrientos, Bivins, Deuell, Ellis, Gallegos, Hinojosa, Lucio, Madla, Shapleigh, Van de Putte, West, Whitmire, Zaffirini.

The President announced that the roll call reflected the lack of a quorum.

Howsowhatever, the above links are an interesting illustration of how Galveston is already parsed rather keenly. The populated area of the island - the east end - is cleaved in two. Right now they are both Republicans.
