Got to tell you man, piss off the Base and you will LOSE the election as their support evaporates.Got to tell YOU man, if the base is so selfish they'll get pissed off over something like this, I'm sure President Bush would just as soon go home to his ranch at Crawford instead of sacrificing the best years of his life to solve the biggest problems this country has ever faced. Why should he give up so much to serve people who will sell their vote so cheaply?

Why should he give up so much to serve people who will sell their vote so cheaply?Good question, McGavin.
The 'he's selling out his base' tripe and 'I won't vote for him in 2004 if....' crowd are getting really boring.
I guarantee that most of these gripers never voted for him in the first place.
These are idle threats, and do not represent most Republicans OR veterans who are thrilled to have George W. Bush as Commander in Chief.

As an elderly citizen trying to live on just over $500. a month, some of my generation make me ill. My father, living on social security, gave back food stamps saying he couldn't use all of them. What ever happened to pride in this country. BTW, I don't get any government help beside my S.S. and don't want it. I also have no medical perscription insurnace other than the little AARP gives me, which is about 10+%.

Why should he give up so much to serve people who will sell their vote so cheaply?I agree with you. I pay a very modest amount--about one-tenth the typical health insurance premium per month--for Tricare Prime coverage for the entire family. I have no complaints. I pay nothing for my medical prescriptions, get immediate referrals to quality specialists as needed, and haven't had to contend with a provider who wasn't fully and promptly paid by Tricare.
I am grateful for what I have been provided courtesy of the American taxpayer. I was honored to defend this nation and will continue to defend it to my last breath.
God bless America and God bless President George W. Bush.
