Except for one thing. Nothing gets better by making it worse. We aren't tearing down an old building. The party that defends us against the dems is the one we're stuck with.

We went from a liberal government to a moderate one. We are going in the right direction. We have more CCW laws. We have control over Congress and we're a few votes shy getting control over the Senate. This next election can give us a stronger House and control over the Senate. Four years from now we can have a conservative President. If we go back now, the Republicans may think liberalism is what the country wants and will change to suit that.

Let's let the dems worry about their jobs security and change to a more conservative party.

Sorry, G., I just don't see it that way.
We have talked enough for me to know that you look at the facts rather than the emotion, and I respect your opinion.
In my opinion, however, if we elect GW to another term it will be a de facto approval of his policies for the last four years, and that I cannot do.
I, for one, am sick to death of the terms, "moderate" and "compassionate". Those terms are simply a cop-out for a socialistic agenda.

I disagree that we can't make it better by tearing it down.
In fact, short of a revolution, I see no other way.

All of these ideas and debates are going to be moot in the next presidential election if our economy doesn't turn around.
The real unemployment rate right now is double digits, and a lot of people are hurting. I see nothing that is going to change between now and next year.
If there is one issue which will make the whole country a one issue vote, it is food on the table and a roof over their heads.
Ronald Reagan pulled us out in the mid-80s, but he didn't do it with a tax cut. GW's tax cut won't do it, either.
