That would make an interesting race if he got in. Depending on who the Pubbies put up, it might actually be worth it.

Doesn't matter what his platform is - the "get Aids and die" comment, for starters, means he will never have even a remote chance of winning. He can muck things up and help the Democrats though. But hey, it's a good publicity stunt for this egomaniac.Couldn't have said it better myself.

I think that I'll run too. We're not splitting up the GOP vote enough ways.

He won't win, but if his candidacy gets the Illegal Alien issue even 5% more attention, I'll be happy.

I really don't think he's actually going to run. He's probably just saying he's "mulling" the idea for publicity.

Stern was going to run for Governor of New York and backed out when he learned he'd have to release his income taxes.
To: lainie
Savage said he never heard of McClintock. Must never listen to the KSFO morning show (and Tom was on there as recent as this morning).

Stern ran for Mayor,No, it was going to be governor on the Libertarian ticket. He had three planks that once he signed them into law, he was going to resign. One was to have all road work done during the overnight hours, and I forget the rest at the moment.
Go Savage Go!
Gotta run, got a date with a fish, I'll check back on the thread later.

He's running for governor. If I'm right, the next two months in CA will be something else indeed. If true, it'll be the most entertaining race in history -- Savage, Arnold, and Arianna.
It really doesn't get much better than that.

By Aug. 9, there will probably be 30 Republicans and 20 Democrats running, and a few others.

He's never heard of McClintock? He's really up on current affairs. Just what we need in a governor.
Tom's been all over the place for months.

You're right. Comedy, farce, tragedy -- California's got it all.

In a crowded race, he might just pull it off. With enough white bread candidates and maybe a green thrown in, a single conservative voice could win with 20%
It would be very interesting to see the Republicans' reaction. There are no other real cultural conservatives on the landscape.

ATTENTION ALL:
I am making a world exclusive announcement. I am out of diet coke, and I plan on asking the Coca Cola company to airlift me a fountain machine.
This has been a WORLD EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT. You heard it here first.

HE IS RUNNING Why not. A politician or 10, an actor, a couple of athletes, now a philosopher. Let them all run.

You might not want to bet your life on that. I would. Democrats run this state like a fiefdom, and they didn't get there by force. The recall only has a chance because a substantial percentage of Demos think Davis stinks too. But none of them will vote for Savage over Gray.
