I was just lisening to Medved debating Creationism with Athiests on the air. I found it interesting that while Medved argued his side quite effectively from the standpoint of faith, his opponents resorted to condescension and beliitled him with statements like, "when it rains, is that God crying?" I was reminded of the best (at least most amusing)debate that I have ever heard on the subject of Creationism vs Evolution, albeit a fictional setting. It occurred on the show, Friends of all places between the characters Pheobe (The Hippy) and Ross (The Paleontologist). It went like this...
Pheebs: Okay...it's very faint, but I can still sense him in the building...GO INTO THE LIGHT MR. HECKLES!!
Ross: Whoa, whoa, whoa. What, uh, you don't believe in evolution? Pheebs: Nah. Not really. Ross: You don't believe in evolution? Pheebs: I don't know. It's just, ya know, monkeys, Darwin, ya know, it's a, it's a nice story. I just think it's a little too easy.
Ross: Uh, excuse me. Evolution is not for you to buy, Phoebe. Evolution is scientific fact. Like, like, the air we breathe, like gravity... Pheebs: Uh, okay, don't get me started on gravity.
Ross: You uh, you don't believe in gravity? Pheebs: Well, it's not so much that ya know, like I don't *believe* in it, ya know. It's just...I don't know. Lately I get the feeling that I'm not so much being pulled down, as I am being pushed.
Ross: How can you NOT BELIEVE in evolution? Pheebs: [shrugs] I unh-huh...Look at this funky shirt!!
Ross: Well, there ya go. Pheebs: Huh. So now, the REAL question is: who put those fossils there, and why...?
Ross: OPPOSABLE THUMBS!! Without evolution, how do YOU explain OPPOSABLE THUMBS?!? Pheebs: Maybe the overlords needed them to steer their spacecrafts!
Pheebs: Uh-oh! Scary Scientist Man!
Pheebs: Okay, Ross? Could you just open your mind like, *this* much?? Okay? Now wasn't there a time when the brightest minds in the world believed that the Earth was flat? And up until what, like, fifty years ago, you all thought the atom was the smallest thing, until you split it open, and this like, whole mess o' crap came out! Now, are you telling me that you are so unbelievably arrogant that you can't admit that there's a teeny, tiny possibility that you could be wrong about this?!?
Pheebs: I can't believe you caved. Ross: What? Pheebs: You just ABANDONED your whole belief system! I mean, before, I didn't agree with you, but at least I respected you. Ross: But uh.. Pheebs: Yeah...how...how are you gonna go in to work tomorrow? How...how are you gonna face the other science guys? How...how are you gonna face yourself? Oh! [Ross runs away dejected] Pheebs: That was fun. So who's hungry?

The character of your critics is the best possible endorsement of yours.
You have gone above and beyond, stooping so far as to converse politely and with absolute decorum with us poor, deluded evos.
You are to be commended.

Irrefutable ...
there are only three kinds of people ---
1st ... the one's who can help you ---
2nd ... the one's you can help ---
3rd ... the one's * who can only pull you down !

Some of the New Age types claim that there are "meridians of power" (or some name like that) tha converge at Sedona (and at some village in Maui, I don't remember the name). They also talk a lot about cubic crystals. I just combined the names. (I think the New Agers also use the term Cosmic Convergence.)

You never cease to amaze me. Are you a retired car salesman?
I suppose you figure the lurkers won't read and decide what has transpired for themselves. Well, I did, and I discovered that you and your buddies continue to act like a pack of wolves. Furthermore, the fact that the evo's are practically kissing A-G's feet in this thread suggests to me that so far things have been working in their favor with regard to the enforcement or non-enforcement of the agreement." (an agreement, I might add, that sure sounded good when I read it, but those of us who know how you guys work knew it would never fly)
Frankly, it's hard for me to even peruse the Crevo threads anymore because they are usually filled with posts comprised of poo-poo, as opposed to those comprised of creative thoughts and friendly discussions.

My statement at the end was not made from hatred, but from worry about your soul. As to the rest, I spoke very clearly, I laid out the charges very explicitly, I supported them fully. You had no excuse for claiming you did not understand what I said. You knew what I said was true and proper but did not wish to do the right thing. That's what it amounts to, so you made phony excuses for not doing the right thing. Like I said, excuses are easy to find even for the most foul deeds, it is acting properly that is hard. You failed. Most importantly you failed yourself.
As to your final paragraph, using a post to me to libel someone with totally false charges is unconscionable. I suggest it is you who is full of hatred and need to rexamine your heart.

Do you honestly believe that who you hang out with on a message board will determine the fate of your soul?First of all let me say that I was not thinking of you when I made that statement but of several others who shall remain unmentioned.
The company one keeps is perhaps the biggest determinant of people's actions. Group solidarity is often the source of the foulest deeds which many in the group would not have done themselves. If you are a father, I am sure you have warned your children about the company they keep, if you become one at some point you surely will. So yes, I do truly believe so.

The only thing I ask is a "trial by jury" of sortsAnd I would ask that it be refused and such do not take place. You have acted most honorably by your latest actions and have shown you took your word to be your bond.

I HEREBY WITHDRAW FROM THIS AGREEMENT
I brought this matter before all the signers to see if their promise to faithfully treat others in a civil manner was taken in good faith. I found that it was not. As always those on the evolutionist side excused everything done by those among them and attacked me viciously for daring to bring such a matter up.
This agreement was always about not insulting others not about legalisms, lawyering and excuse making. I see here that the signature of the evolutionists was a farce (one exception - NakatuX acted in a completely honorable manner) and that they intend to use the agreement not for peacekeeping but for disruption as the posts by the 'leader of the band' in
Post# 651 in the Agreement of the Willing thread and
Post# 59 in the 'New Dinosaur Species Found in India' thread show.
I will not be a party to such a travesty. I also do not wish to be in any way associated with those who excuse the publication of private communications which is the foundation of a free society.
BTW - The above does not mean that I will now feel free to act in an uncivil manner.
I will post this also in the 'Agreement of the Willing' thread so that none will falsely think I am still part of this farce.

Look at you foaming at the mouth at A-G as if she were some sort of evo! "Nonsense?" "Hypocrisy?" "Deceitful?" "Dishonest?"That is funny! You are admitting that calling you such names would be proper! You really should think a bit before you post!
