HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Convicted hitman Allen Wayne Janecka once said the way he dealt with life on death row was to take it one day at a time.

More than 22 years after he arrived on death row, this could be his last day.

Janecka, 53, faced lethal injection Thursday evening for fatally shooting Kevin Wanstrath, a 14-month-old Houston boy, in the child's crib more than 24 years ago in a murder-for-hire scheme that also claimed the lives of the toddler's parents and, in an earlier murder plot, the child's grandmother.

I'm glad they executed the employer first. I was pissed when the Rodriguez Brothers, Dumb and Dumbest, copped a plea while Rolando Ruiz got death row. H&*(, I'm still pissed!

His conviction in 1981 was overturned. He was retried in 1993 and AGAIN guilty and got the DP . . .

I've been watching some crime stories on A&E recently. For those who remember Charles Starkweather, he killed in 1957, was captured, tried, and sentenced in 1958, and was electrocuted in 1959. The boys who killed the Clutter family in 1959 were captured, tried and hanged I believe all within a span of three years. The good old days!!

One discrepancy in the coroner's ruling of murder-suicide in the Wanstrath shootings was that no murder weapon was found at the scene.

Yeah, that kind of throws a monkey wrench into that theory. I hope the guy that filed that report is selling newspapers on a street corner now.
