Lynch Receives Bronze Star Before Homecoming
Pfc. Jessica Lynch is returning home Tuesday, newly decorated for heroism in Iraq.
A member of Ft. Bliss' 507th Maintenance Company, Lynch was captured during the attack on a portion of the unit in Nasiriyah, Iraq on March 23rd. She was rescued from captivity on April 1st.
On Monday, Pfc. Lynch received the Bronze Star for heroism, Purple Heart for being wounded in combat, and P.O.W. Medal at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she has been treated for more than three months. KFOX will have a full report on Private Lynch's homecoming Tuesday night on KFOX News at Nine.
Because everyone's blood was up I was never able to fuly get my point across - I think her thrust to hero status was because some had an agenda - I think that agenda was women in combat and she was going to be the poster child for it. That was more my point than she was not worthy of medals, etc.
This is just political pandering to the feminists (a.k.a soccer moms) by the Bush administration. It appeases the feminists' insatiable desire to be man-like and garners their votes. It distracts them from the fact that every right that American women enjoy is afforded them by the blood, sweat and tears of men. A fact that the feminists abhor, but can not escape.
It is men who win wars; women can only die in them. And the feminists would have a lot more women needlessly suffering and dying, just so they can indulge their fantasy of being the equals of men in war.
Sounds like a poor imitation of Courage Under Fire. Life imitating art. Still, it's surprising nobody like John Kerry hasn't lobbied on her behalf for the MOH. He's a great one for taking advantage of medal inflation.
See my #366 -
Keep you calm and don't let the 'crap' going on today upset you too much---I know vets from WW2 who were wounded by enemy action and never saw a Purple Heart---they give out medals and bars these days to help the younger generation "find themselves"---hell, I always knew who I was as my Mom and Dad told me---still, don't take anything away from the servicefolk today since they were raised in the 'whats in it for me' generation and are doing great in spite of it---God Bless them all in any event----(Lynch does not deserve the 'star' but neither does Kerry)---let us not "eat our own" over this kind of garbage--
"---hell, I always knew who I was as my Mom and Dad told me---"
LMAO. If only we had ...
That's quite a bio you've got there on your profile page. The good Lord has blessed you greatly. May He continue to do so.
