Yes, Angelus, but your choice is much like that faced by third party people, who want their candidate and resent the two main party choices.

We don't get to choose coverage of the war on terror and most particularly North Korea.

Our choice is uraniumgate or the Kobe case. I vote for Kobe, because although I am not particularly interested in it, at least it has nothing to do with President Bush and evil Republicans.

Although the way things are going lately, that nice young district attorney in Vail is probably the county chairman for Bush/Cheney 2004.

Hadn't thought of it that way.

Gee maybe there is some paper trail showing Kobe Bryant as a top donor or special guest for the Democrats or one of their candidates in the past.

'Democratic-backing sports star on trial for rape!' sounds better than 'what did the president know and when did he know it?' Woodward/Bernstein wannabe nonsense.

You're probably right, that'll make it easier to stomach the next few months of non-stop media coverage. Who knows, maybe they can find a link between Kobe Bryant, the DC snipers, the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping, and Scott Peterson.
