Gadhafi: 'Straights' Don't Get AIDS

Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi told a conference of African leaders Saturday that Africans who are "straight" need not fear AIDS, which is ravaging many countries on the continent.

Speaking through a translator, Gadhafi drew some laughter with his reference to AIDS only affected homosexuals.

He told the closing session of the eight-day annual African Union conference, "All you have to do is observe the rules. If you are straight, you have nothing to fear from AIDS." He also described HIV, the virus that causes AIDS as "a peaceful virus, not an aggressive virus."

Of the 42 million people worldwide infected with HIV, 29 million live in sub-Saharan Africa. , at the close of the eight-day summit,

Gadhafi added in his address to 40 African heads of state that they should also not "worry about tsetse flies and mosquitoes" - which carry malaria and sleeping sickness - saying they were "God's armies" protecting Africa from its enemies, apparently foreigners.

"If they come here, they will get malaria and sleeping sickness," he said.

Malaria kills 5 million Africans a year, while sleeping sickness - also known as African trypanosomiasis - kills more than 25,000 people in Africa a year.

I read what you wrote carlo, and I understand the role that cancer had in the discovery of the HIV virus.

They are not "my friends" carlo, but I see the always present need to degenerate any discussion on this subject, and take it to a personal level in order to avoid the issue...and your own demons.

I don't care what you think about homosexuality, in the end, neither you nor I will pass judgement on them, a much higher authority will, but I do care that you and others like you, continue to spread lies and missinformation on this disease.

It is a blood disease, it was introduced into our blood stream in Africa. Somehow, simian blood, containing the simian version of HIV infected people there.

One of the strains made its way to the West, obviously via a homosexual carrier (Patient Zero), as such, the disease manifested itself in the "gay" community, hemophiliacs, and IV drug users first.

In Africa, were the virus was originally introduced, both versions are spreading at a tremendous rate, millions are dead.

Ignorance is this disease's most able ally, quit spreading ignorance, it's deadlier than AIDS.

That's a moronic leap, there is a sea of difference between not approving of people who break the law, and commit crimes, and hating all Jews simply because they are Jews, or Catholics simply because they are Catholics, or Mexicans simply because they are Mexicans.

When you dislike entire groups of people not based on specific individual actions such as stealing, but rather on a common shared trait such as religion, race, or nationality, then you are a bigot.

I don't think anyone doubts that promiscuity puts you at greater risk for STDs and AIDS. The debate is stemming from people who think AIDS is only a homosexual problem and seem to agree with Gadhafi's statements which are pure fiction.

"Greater risk"? If you practice "one man for one woman for life" your chances of an STD are nearly zero. The only reason it is not zero is because of what little spread there occurs caused by casual, occupational, medical or deliberate contacts by those infected. AIDS (STD + HIV positive = AIDS, remember they "s" is for syndrome not disease) is percieved as a homosexual problem because "they" chose to promote it as such in order to develop political and social sympathy.

I will agree AIDS is a danger to everyone. But the problem goes away if the behavior stops. And who "Behaves" the most?

Better check again; pure hetero transmission IN THIS COUNTRY is very rare. The heteros that get it are also needle users or sleeping with a needle user.

In Africa, It's a bit different for various hypothesized reasons. But in Europe and the US it is a disease of, by and for gays. It is extremely difficult (but not impossible) for heteros to spread (easier for women to get it from men than the other way around).

Coming from a man that promotes and defends, dangerous, and unnatural, homosexual sex, if you don't mind my misguided friend, I'll take my divine intervention from a bit more of a devote source!

Do you at least agree that the aggressive sexual appetite of Homosexuals, has contributed greatly to the deaths of too many young boys? 

How is it that you can defend a life choice that lobbies for the lowering of the age of consent of children to commit sexual acts with older men?

This is being labeled a success of a Homosexual activist group, Nambla. Their persistent lobbying effort accomplished the lowering of the age of consent to 12 in a number of countries including but not limited to the Netherlands;

NETHERLANDS LAWS:
Has no sodomy laws, the age of sexual consent is 16 for all, sex between an adult and a young person between the ages of 12 and 16 is permitted by law, as long as the young person consents. It may only be prosecuted by complaint from the young person or the young personas parents.
