As far as I'm concerned you are no better than a CNN reporter. This story only has legs because people like you are trying to make it bigger than it is. You obviously do not understand how intelligence works, best to remain silent and thought a fool than to write it down and prove it.

Read post #116.

A ggogle search quickly reveals that Ms. Crawford is no fan of GWB, despite your sarcasm.

Lay out the proof that Miss Crawford is a Bush-hater. Lay out the proof that she's a DNC shill.

She is doing it herself with her own comments. I don't have to prove anything.

That is the point I was making! You stated it very well! I don't know any of the other journalist on her that have ever put up a vanity like this one.

Are you aware the British intelligence agencies still stand firmly behind their uranium claims? Have you heard it mentioned that the Niger connection was but ONE piece of the puzzle regarding uranium and so the decision was made to leave it in. Perhaps I'm the only one who has heard/read that.

No, I'm not worried. I did notice that question, and commented on it, but I see it as an attempt to liven conversation, not conduct a formal interview.

We sure missed that -- regime change was just a minor issue!

Unbelieveable that the media is focusing on one line of the speech, called it a lie (which it wasn't), and now smell blood to take down President Bush!

What a leap that is!

(just a bit of)Text of statement Friday night issued by CIA Director George Tenet:

...

Portions of the State of the Union speech draft came to the CIA for comment shortly before the speech was given. Various parts were shared with cognizant elements of the agency for review. Although the documents related to the alleged Niger-Iraqi uranium deal had not yet been determined to be forgeries, officials who were reviewing the draft remarks on uranium raised several concerns about the fragmentary nature of the intelligence with
(note this NSC slap)
National Security Council colleagues. Some of the language was changed. From what we know now, agency officials in the end concurred that the text in the speech was factually correct, i.e. that the British government report said that Iraq sought uranium from Africa. This should not have been the test for clearing a presidential address. This did not rise to the level of certainty which should be required for presidential speeches, and CIA should have ensured that it was removed.
(now my comments again)

The NSC has staff, all appointees, taking up space in the CIA and practically every cabinet level agency which concerns National security. The NSC is suppose to be made up of these cabinet heads. The NSC chairman (Rice) is the only orgina nonconfirmed member. These multitude of staffers get in the way and pretend to be White House supervisors. The DCI calls them "colleagues". Hereon he lays the blaim, Not with his agency.
He was once on the NSC staff.

Wasn't that a great feeling today to see Nancy Reagan give the words that brought the USS Ronald Reagan to life? Had tears streaming down my face for a large part of that ceremony! Just made me so proud to be an American and to have President Reagan and Nancy honored this way!

Yes, it was. My late father-in-law was a Captain in the Navy and my husband and I were thinking of him too.

Ms. Crawford, media person, what is wrong with the above statement (16 words) in light of what was known at that time in history?
