You are correct.
Next the Democrats will continue to call for Tenet's head on a platter. I wonder if he can weather this storm like he did all of the blame after September 11th?

He's a Clinton appointee...

I think they might find it hard to touch him. Bush will support him for several months, and he will retire to be with his family.

Earlier, John Gibson was giving Terry McAwful a hard time about that, saying, "So you guys are going to demand that someone appointed by your guy Clinton resign?"

I don't think Tenet should be allowed to weather this storm. He should have been gone a long time ago, IMHO.
So, what is Tenet saying here? That the info was false and HE knew it or just that it shouldn't have been in the speech? Either way, it's way too sloppy. My confidence in our "intelligence" is pretty much near rock bottom and this certainly doesn't firm it up any.
It's time for Tenet to go.

Yes BUT this should stop them from calling GW a LIAR on a daily basis. Calling for the head of TENET is a much EASIER problem to handle for the administration. GW shoots HE SCORES!! Again. The gimmies are in shock and the MEDIA will do some more digging to see if Tenet was PRESSURED into saying this. It is not over but close!

Bill Gertz said "huge fights go on about shall and may" in intel. It is a mosaic and one has to be careful about calling a mistake a lie.

He's a Clinton appointee; they'll probably leave him alone and continue after Bush.
