From your article:

...Dorothy Rabinowitz, writing in the Wall Street Journal's editorial section, poured gallons of sarcasm over Treason and Coulter, particularly over her epochal defense of Senator Joseph McCarthy, but without once mentioning a substantive fault in Coulter's thesis. All Rabinowitz saw fit to cite was the Malmedy Massacre -- an episode near the end of World War II, involving American soldiers taken prisoner in battle and later found dead. A number of German SS troopers were convicted of having murdered the Americans, on the basis of confessions extracted from them by torture. McCarthy protested this as a miscarriage of justice...for which highly principled act Rabinowitz seeks to smear him as a Nazi sympathizer and thus undermine Coulter's case.

Why aren't prestigious conservatives massing behind Coulter? Her style is no more strident than that of our adversaries. More, she manages to be funny, which they do not. Her facts are unassailable. She has yet to be caught lifting something misleadingly out of context. Why not stand with her and say to our opponents, "All right, we've taken the gloves off too. Now we'll see who's standing at the end" -- ?

Great stuff!

Ms. Coulter will be Unspun's guest next week. Don't miss it!

Rabinowitz slyly hinting that McCarthy was a Nazi is infuriating. Two Soviet spies, Willi Munzenberg and Samuel Dickstein (D-NY), created the myth that Republicans are fascists and Nazis.

Dickstein was engaging in the "McCarthyism" Rabinowitz abhors over a decade before Joe McCarthy held his hearings. On February 11, 1941, Dickstein took to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives and declared:

"One hundred and ten fascist organizations in the United States have had, and have now the key to the back door of the Un-American Activities Committee!"
The ironic part is that Dickstein, on orders from Stalin, introduced the bill creating HCUA. It originally went after conservatives. Dickstein was infuriated when the committee turned on communists.

Why no press coverage about the Mccormick/Dickstein "witchhunt"? The two of them accused conservatives of plotting a "putsch" to take over the Federal government. Dickstein served 11 terms in Congress, then became a judge on the New York State Supreme Court. There is a plaza named after him in NYC. When he wasn't relying on his usual $1,250 a month salary from the Soviets (over $15,000 in current dollars), he was earning extra money by selling Stalin visas for his NKVD agents (Dickstein chaired an immigration committee).

If someone wants to attack Congressmen for playing outseide the rules, there are far better people than McCarthy to attack.

[ Why aren't prestigious conservatives massing behind Coulter? ]

Could because of anti-McCarthy comments they've made in the PAST...(sucking up to liberals) and trying to not appear like they are simps are doing damage control for the future. For the very word communist has been off limits for so long in Washington D.C... And conservatives have been doing a very strange dis-jointed word dance for so long. Changeing now must be ruffleing their comb overs... makeing them look SILLY'er...
