I see an 'absence of malice' when someone pitches a harmless water balloon at a fire truck in a parade carrying Dennis Hastert, but what makes you believe Doug Thompson is telling the truth all of a sudden?

You're probably not aware that he's done this sort of thing before. He wrote a hit piece on GWB followed by a retraction/apology this past February.
