Thompson sourced this alleged shadowy character for twenty years based upon a brief meeting at an event in New Mexico (that no-one will ever remember) until one day some girl he works with tells him that it was all a hoax?

Doug Thompson is still lying. He finally made up a story so unbelievable that when called on it he could do nothing to cover his tracks except to say that he'd been snookered by a person that misrepresented themselves. When caught, he started deleting old stories on CHB before we could catch them too. Destruction of evidence.

Anyone trying to track down a 'Tony James Wilkinson' is on a snipe hunt, and dozens of Freepers are calling Thompson a 'stand-up guy' in another thread for 'coming clean'.

Doug, I have never posted to you, after all these years on FR. But I want to tell you that I respect the hell out of you for writing that retraction. I've worked mostly in radio news in the past, and am aware of all the inherent pressures.

Yes, we've been through Doug's junk before, the Deepinthe HuntingtonForrest stuff, ASH ALERTS, and on and on. Still, this thing of Doug's, is SO patently obvious and SO ridiculous, that it just cries out, like the drops of blood, from the cut off heel and the cut off toes of Cinderella's step sisters, that it's baffling that some FREEPERs ( both old and new ) are sooooooooooooooooooooooo damned gullible and dripping/oozing with platitudes and forgiveness.
