It's not Bush and Blair that are getting their stories confused, its the media.

The Bush Administration has said that a document about the Niger connection was a forgery. The Blair government has said the same thing.

The media has taken this information and spun it into "Bush lied about the Niger connection" when Bush has said no such thing.

Neither Bush nor Blair ever claimed that the forged document was the sole basis for their suspicions about the Niger connection.

I watched Hardball and Nightline tonight. After watching these two liberal shows, I must say I witness absolute obvious bias in the stories. This whole idea that the forged document was not the sole reason to believe the link was never reported on either show. Also the obvious question of who forged it was never asked and answered. The only obvious reason for the story was to throw mud at Bush and hope it will stick to his reputation.

Both news shows clearly want to read the headline, “Bush lied about the Niger connection” in the NYT and the WP. Chris Matthews even snidely commended that we will learn more in the weeks to come. As if to say he already knows the cover up will be exposed or at least the press manufactured cover up will be published.

Watch out for this in the days ahead. I get the feeling that the liberal media will create a “cover up” mentality and someone will remark that it wasn’t the break in that brought Nixon done, but the cover up.
