Also, kindly note that the A-1 Skyraider was not an ASW bird, it was a strike aircraft. Actually the Skyraider was cleared to carry W-7 and W-34 depth charges. (When you've got 10KT to play with, great accuracy isn't that important) But that was in the '50s and early 60's, not 1967.

BTW, VA-176 on the Saratoga was flying Skyraiders at the time.
