"Current efforts to sabotage oil pipelines and other Iraqi infrastructure by remaining Saddam loyalists will dissipate as the country continues to get back on its feet, Strock asserted. The Iraqi people are regarding such attacks as assaults on their livelihood, he said."
Unwittingly, this gentleman has uttered one of the cornerstones underlying free market economics. When poverty stricken groups are able to begin to acquire wealth, even in the form of just jobs and basic services, the have no more taste for violence, terrorism, revolution, and anarchy anymore and begin to settle down to a civil way of life.
The more we progress in putting Iraq back to together steadily, one piece at a time, it will create it's own critical mass and inertia that will be our biggest weapon to stopping the chaos there.
