I don't disagree that there were a lot of traitors. But slinging the word "traitor" so liberally tars mostly good people. Most Democrats/Liberals/even leftists are not "traitors." Calling them that is insulting, it's like calling NRA members "Klansmen." It's the same level of discourse. It undercuts our ability to point out real cases of treason when people like Ann are constantly crying wolf. Ann undercuts her own argument that there was a lot of left-wing treason in this country by making those stupid overgeneralizations about everyone on the left.

I take it that you have neither read Ann's new book, nor the many excerpts from, which have been posted here and have been in many newspapers, nor seen her talk about her book. If you had, you would NOT have written such a patently ridiculous reply. She doesn't broadly tar every single Dem as a " taitor "; no, she points out historical facts about many Dem politicians, which you probably don't know anything at all about. She also clears McCarthy's much abused name.
It would behove you, greatly, to refrain from talking about things you don't really know anything about.

Ann points out that the anticommunist Democrats lost control of the party in the late 1960s. That is simply a fact. What we have today is a party which is always on the wrong side of every issue when it comes to foreign affairs. All during Reagan, Democrats--as a party--worked to bring him down and prop up the Soviet Union.
30 years ago, we could pretend there were honest, decent pro-American people on the left. Those days are over. They are out and out fascists now--ruled by government unions, trial lawyers and marxists. Equality under law, the rule of law, democracy itself, means nothing to them. Look at what Schumer is doing in the Senate right now--the party has moved from trying to, and often, fixing elections to getting its agenda enacted by unelected judges.

The worst thing you can say about Coulter is that she moves the discourse to the right by unabashedly putting a positive face on everyone the left hates. And that is faint praise; what she actually does is honestly but vigorously argue the Reaganite worldview. To paraphrase Goldwater, Extremism is defense of the truth is no vice, and moderation in deconstructing historical smears is no virtue.

Calling them that is insulting, . . .Then call them the left's "useful idiots," helping this nation's enemies to destroy this nation more thoroughly and effectively than any traitor ever did.
They're indistinguishable from most libertarians in that respect.
Whatever call them, they deserve nothing but contempt.
