I have hearded it prounounced with a hard "CH" as in "choke" and a soft "CH" as in "show". The O is always long, and the A and E are always silent.

In other words

I would provide diacritical marks, but I can't figure out how.

Thanks for the Choate! It looks like you are both right. When you each gave a different answer, "Chote" and "Ko-ate", I went looking. It seems "Chote" is more prevalent.

Then I came on this: "inchoate being only partly in existence, esp: imperfectly formed or formulated" and wonder what the Choates have to say about that.
