So, how do you believe the lp, with it's policy of totally open borders and unrestricted immigration, would accomplish this most important task of defending the nation from another terrorist attack?

I don't believe it would, since I'm not a "totally open borders" kind of guy. I would like to cut out some fat from other areas to shore up law enforcement. Why should we tell the bad guys we know something's up? What good is the DEFCON rating? If something's up why broadcast it?

I'm not that hot about the DEFCON system but it's an effort. If it's confusing to us imagine how confusing it is to them. Anyone plotting something against must wonder every time the color changes.
