Haven't watched the "new" TNN since they quit showing the stuff men really liked a couple of years ago, hunting, fishing, guns, cars and auto racing shows and turned it into the "Hollyweird", "Madison Avenue" Junk channel. Don't think I'll be looking at it even now after reading here what it has become. A couple of things some should remember about kids watching the trash they want to air now. You are the adult, there are some all important controls on that one eyed monster YOU should be using if you don't want your children watching, they are called the "ON/OFF" button and the "CHANNEL" changer, use them and let the rest of us make up our own minds. This method has worked in my house for more years than I care to count with children and grandchildren and none have told me they were ever deprived because they weren't allowed to watch the trashy side of the "tube".

My sister refused to have cable or satellite tv for years while her children were young and they went so far as to pack their television in storage at times because they were so disgusted with what was on television. Yes, you can control that. However, the children made friendships with other children at school and would go over to *their* homes to watch television in the afternoons, so they still got exposure to Jerry Springer, soap operas and other tv filth.
My sister came unglued when she found out her school was showing kids R-rated movies as "reward" for good behavior.
Ultimately, the parents have the most influence but even the best of them can't control what their kids watch 24/7 and frankly those aren't the kids that concern me. It's the latchkey underparented sat-in-front-of-the-tube-while-Mommy-parties-or-gets-drunk kids that worry me. What's so wrong about tv stations being responsible for what they put on the air? If ALL the responsibility belongs to the parents, why doesn't CBS/FOX/ABC etc just show non-stop porn? Oh, that's right, they practically do.
