Sugar doesn't make us fat. Fat makes us fat!! The "fat" in foods is a necessary nutrient and is NOT the same thing as "fat" around your waistline. Waistline fat comes from too much sugar and carbs.

Fat is a necessary nutrient, but not in excess...

Excess fat will go the way of all excess calories, into storage...

Hydrogenated trans-fats will clog arteries, as well as make you fatter too.

I think that's where a lot of the confusion comes in. We're taught to think of fat as fat, with no distinction between types.
