Bullshit. I know personally of a marine who just got back from Iraq who will love this statement. Showing strength and talking tough is something soldiers love. It is the wimps like Carter that piss them off.

I have no problem with a defiant statement from the commander in chief...who *doesn't* get a chill up his/her spine when he hears Churchill's "We shall fight in the fields and in the streets...we shall never surrender" line? I just think "Bring them on" is something I would expect from Rambo...you know, from someone who is actually there, dodging the bullets and unloading his rifle into the enemy.

My take: "This isn't going to be Vietnam. We are going to find you and we are going to kill you, and then we are going to install rule of law, so that innocent people can raise their families there. Your culture isn't so hallowed or esoteric or such that the appeal to common people to live and work and raise families isn't absent, but strong in a way that you are going to find out about.
