" In 1994, as a member of the audience in a town meeting with Bill Clinton, Cain asked the President what he would tell the employees his company would have to lay off if the "Hillary-Care" health program became law." IIRC, the President--or was it the little lady--responded with some witticism such as, 'Oh, well--you can't make an omelette without breaking some eggs," in other words, you small businessmen can go bankrupt for all we care. Let 'em eat cake.

Actually, it was Bill Clinton, who in a spasm of acute business acumen, when told by Cain that he and other small businessmen would have to reduce their workforce if Hillary's health care-bill was passed, was told by the President, "Well, why don't you just raise your prices then?", demonstrating his usual mastery of the essence of capitalism and free market theory.
