Where's Ann Coulter? Why is Barnes & Noble hiding all copies of TREASON from their customers?

This is exactly where I found my copy. Once you walk into the store, you must turn 180 degrees to see the book. The stores must be communicating on where to place Ann's new book, so as to minimize sales (not all B&N stores are doing this, of course, but many are).

B&N employees were restocking Hillary's book on the fly last night. They didn't want any gaps. When I went to pick up a copy I said to the employee, "I'm not buying this book, so no need to put a new one in its place. I'm just trying to find the clause in the book which states that the book is non-returnable".

Ann said that the executives of B&N spent a lot of money on her book, buying the promo tables with her picture for each one of it's stores across America.

Actually, the publishers pay a premium under contract with B&N for promo space. This is true at all book stores. My girlfriend is a senior person at one of the world's largest publishers (and also happens to manage the B&N accounts), and the cost of a good promo spot in a B&N store for a book is a couple thousand dollars per store. If her publisher made a global deal with B&N and the local stores are not executing their end of the contract, then you have a lawsuit waiting to happen. Buying these promo spots at stores is generally THE most expensive part of publishing a book, so the publisher will be very displeased if that isn't happening as contracted.

I would suggest contacting management at B&N home office and reporting the individual store.

Absolutely. That is a substantial breach of contract between the publisher and B&N, as the publisher pays a mint for those promo spots. I'm sure B&N corporate will not be pleased with the individual store managers creating very large liabilities for the company.

went to Borders yesterday, 6/26, and on display, walking
in, are 50 or more Hillary books....went to customer desk
and asked for Treason...guy said -I think we re sold out..then found one on display in middle of store..I
let him know my thoughts,etc. but just a clerk don't know
his ... from hole in ground..bought book..get into it next

Maybe Hillary's book if front and center because they ordered way too many of them, and nobody bought them. They need to get rid of them somehow.

Bingo - publisher (Regnery in her case?) buys the end tables, display areas, etc. I worry some people who posted on here are going to email B&N saying "We know you paid a lot of money to display Ann's book and they're not" when it would be Regnery that would have paid B&N for the display areas. B&N personel would know this, and consequently think Freepers don't know what they're talking about.
The people to complain to are Regnery. If they go check B&N out and see Ann's book isn't displayed, then they are the ones who should throw a fit with corporate headquarters over breach of contract.

The woman is the most vain creature alive. I love it when MSNBC has her on because they love to pan on her when she's fixing her hair or holding a mirror up to look at herself. It's pretty funny stuff.

In her interview with Hannity the other day she announced her hatred of travelling commercial because she has to stop and have people gawk about her breasts and if she doesn't keep moving she'll be sexually assaulted.

PLEASE!!!!!!! The woman has no class and no manners. It is with sadness that I predict that her proceeds from her celebrity will not be put to use on charm and ettiquitte lessons. She will never command my respect unless she learns some manners and develops a style commensurate with her talent as a writer and historian. Her mind is good stuff. Her disposition is disgusting.

No great conspiracy here. It was on the first table of books as I went into my B&N. And this is in a liberal area.

Bought the book yesterday two days ago at a B&N in Richardson, TX. Had Hildebeast's book just to the right as you walk in - in the "Non-Fiction best sellers group". The top 10 in that grouping were on the shelf, each at 30% off.

I saw what looked like a manager type nearby, and asked why Treason was not with that group since it was on the best-seller list ahead of the Witch. She smiled, and pointed me in the right direction. Coulter had her own display off to the left - visible upon entry if you looked the right way.

I browsed a bit before going to check out - and the same lady was now running a register when I got to the counter. Since all the other in the "top 10" were discounted 30%, I asked for and received the same discount.

She confided that the Coulter books were selling much better than "Lying about History" did when it first came out. And she thought that was a good thing.

I would have asked her out right then and there except for the rings on both of our fingers...

The B&N in Richmond was censoring the Michael Savage book earlier this year. When I complained to the limp-wristed clerk, he said "Oh, we do not carry that book, but we could order it for you." I said "You don't carry the Number 1 Best Seller!!!?? I will buy it at Books-A-Million then." And so I did.

I look forward to playing the same silly game with Ann's book at the same Richmond B&N store.

Oh well, I don't read any of these vanity type books no matter who writes them. Limbaugh, Clinton, Coulter, Blumenthal. All a waste of time and money.

It's prominently displayed at CostCo (San Diego) and sells for $15.29. I bought 3 copies.

Go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow and just try to find Treason without asking for assistance. I’m serious – I dare you (and please post your findings).

Maybe your bookstore sold most of their copies already?

It's probably not any grand conspiracy - those people are trying to sell books - that's how they make their living.

Of course, if they don't realize Ann's book is going to be popular, a bunch of people going in asking for it ought to give them a 'heads up' - and I'd bet the book will begin to be more prominently displayed.

I haven't had a chance to check the book positioning at local book stores yet (Wilkes Barre/Scranton, PA). For Slander they were pretty good though.

I bought it today at Sam's for $15.74. I was surprised Sam's is carrying it since Walmart isn't. I never saw Slander in Walmart either.
