Where's Ann Coulter? Why is Barnes & Noble hiding all copies of TREASON from their customers?

If you take a stroll to your local Barnes & Noble, in search of Ann Coulter's new book, Treason, you may find yourself looking long and hard for a copy. I found the purposely elusive, strategically placed best-seller only after nearly 10 minutes of browsing the bookstore.

Why is Barnes & Noble hiding this book? Treason is currently #3 at bn.com, easily beating out Living History, yet the Barnes & Noble on Monroe Street, in Toledo, Ohio, has conveniently removed the book from plain sight.

I landed at the new releases, best-sellers, non-fiction section; one whole shelf is dedicated to Ms. Clinton's lies (and 20% off too; 30% off, if you're a Reader's Advantage member).

But, no Ann Coulter.

In addition, although a best-seller, Treason is not on sale. Barnes & Noble has apparently broken their own policy by asking the cover price -- this is the first time EVER that I can recall Barnes & Noble asking the cover price for a new best-seller.

What's going on here and what can we do?

Go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow and just try to find Treason without asking for assistance. I’m serious – I dare you (and please post your findings).

When I came to the register the girly boy said they must have been returns and they have no others

What? Girly boys in Key West? Get out of here.

You're absolutely correct, of course; in the L.A. suburb of Woodland Hills I searched all over for Treason and found it the day AFTER release. It was relegated to a small cardboard stand stuck facing the end of a magazine rack.

People entering the store would not automatically see it, as they would see the other newly released books. I turned the cardboard stand around to face the door and was happy to see it remained that way for several days. After two days Treason had also been placed on a couple of other tables and seems to be selling well.

Of course, it is NOT on sale as is Hillary's book of lies. There are SCADS of that book all over the store with the big 20% off stickers in full view.

Now, however, it's all Harry Potter, all the time, so the political books have taken a back seat...

Well, I see we're all working hard at moving those books around, aren't we? Busy hands are happy hands....

I found the book about Clinton, Dereliction of Duty, and stuck it next to Hitlery's book; then put Ann's book on the other side.

"When I complained to the limp-wristed clerk,..."

There's yer problem Sultan, you complained to a Clone. That same Cloned, limp wristed clerk works at the B& N store out here. You must bypass the Clone, and go straight to the thick wristed manager, who will be a rather large woman with a butch haircut, and is also taking testosterone shots. Be careful how you phrase your complaint with her, though! {G}

At the Grapevine, TX B&N yesterday, I asked the clerk where the copies of Treason could be found. Although Hillary and Harry Potter were all over the windows and the front tables, he said that Treason could be found about 3/4 of the way down the main aisle, on the "Politics" shelf!

Well, I doubt the book was actually 'hidden,' because B&N stores are pretty big places and I doubt you'd ever find the book if it was actually hidden. I'm just trying to air all the possible theories before we trounce on people. Air before you trounce, I always say!

Next time you get a chance, check out B&N head honcho Leonard Riggio's campaign contributions over at fec.gov :) That will explain a lot.

kegler4----With Ann's book you will find it is not a vanity book. It is an extremely well-researched book on history and social attitudes. I believe it is one of the most important books in the past 10 years.

"Well, I doubt the book was actually 'hidden'"

Hey, if it's a best-seller and it's not in with the best-seller section, it's hidden. This is a black and white issue; no gray area here. And from the multitude of people reporting the same problem, something is obviously up.

I know a friend who has a personal library of more than 6,000 books. He donated collections to the U. of Texas and the U. of North Carolina. Also, and most importantly, he has never bought a book at Borders or Barns and Noble.

This reader used to frequent the smaller book shops, but they would only order or display conservative books only after the most egregious groaning and moaning. They did this despite the fact that the big chains were putting them out of business.

I personally believe that the internet is the new wave in bookselling for conservatives. I don't use Amazon for specialty items because they make too many errors. There are, however, lots of clubs and Abebooks.com can provide nearly anything anyone would want.

Wait and see. They will soon be talking about the demise of conventional bookstores just as they are discussing today the passing of ABC, NBD and CBS as news sources.

I couldn't find it at two fair-sized bookstores at the O Hare Airport on Friday. Big display of the Hildebeast though. Almost backed into it and ruined the display. Almost, but I couldn't configure my face properly.

Some times you have to take things into your own hands...

Cause sometimes they keep them up here:

Barnes and noble is in the business of selling books. Time for the suites to remind the manages that BN only cares about green. If that means they sell a million copies of a conservative book that outstripes hitlary so be it.

BTW where is the Ann Coulter cheescake shot?

WooHoo. I just bought my copy of TREASON from Barnes and Noble. Still up reading it. She did a great job.

Don't have the great pictures of where the books were that you did. Hillary was certainly in the same place as your picture. But, TREASON was better placed in the store I went to. They had a a whole stack in one of those cardboard display boxes in the main isle as you entered the store. Reasonably well placed, but still not as prominent as H's.

I bought the book at Walden Books in Monterey CA today.

They had a display with #1-15 bestsellers. It wasn't there. (Hillary's was) I finally found it in the "special interests" section at the bottom of the shelf, there was a total of three, shoved in sideways.

I asked the clerk why such a good selling book was so tucked away. She said she'd "never heard of Ann Coulter." I said, "Yes, that makes sense. Especially here in Bejing, CA, where only one view is accepted."

She just stared.

Anyway. I just read Chapter 3 and I came away with a horrible feeling. If Alger Hiss had a hand in the creation of the UN and it's Charter...maybe the demise of the Soviets Union is not the end of the Democrat's links to thier ultimate goal of a worker's pardise.

They almost succeeded in 1948. The Democrats were a heartbeat away from the United States becoming little more than a pilot version of the USSR through thier brazen, and sometimes fully informed, protection of Soviet spies.
It all starts to get clearer now. Social Security, The "New Deal". Who knows?

Either way, it's my view that the UN is the New USSR, and the Democrats haven't lost a step. It's high time we look closer at our "eleftist" officials.

Good job Ann Coulter! I believe I am learning something.
