WASHINGTON - Democratic lawmakers and aides said yesterday there is growing interest in tapping Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Senate Democratic leader if Sen. Tom Daschle retires next year.

Sources said elevating Clinton - in the Senate for only 21/2 years - would be the best way to raise the party's profile in the face of a popular president and at a time when both houses of Congress are ruled by Republicans.

How many press conferences had she ever engaged in?

How often does she appear in non-scripted venues publically?

That's right, very few (if any).

She is a classic example of someone who is much better suited to operating behind the scenes. She couldn't even sell her socialist health care program ten years ago, and now there is talk of her as Senate Mnority Leader?

We should get so lucky.

This exemplifies the total bankruptcy of the DemocRAT Party. There were more than Republican FBI files absorbed into the bowels of the Clinton Whitehouse...and this is the proof. The Clintons are now shaking down the RAT Party. They effectively own it.

Hillary leading the Senate dems, Pelosi in the House, all they need now is to replace McAullife with Patricia Ireland for the hat trick from hell!

As a letter to the editor of my morning paper said, it more time for Hillary to find the Rose Law Firm billing records in the White House than the Democrats are willing to give to find WMD in all of Iraq.

Far be it from me to (as Clint would say) make your day.

This is really funny...after all the shady deals, while @ the Rose Law Firm (as bagman for Bubba)...the scandals of 1991-2003 (as one of Bubba other brains; 1)Willard/Slick, 2)Hers and 3)Bubba) and her non-listening/No Questions or/any Answer Crowning Senate Tour of 2000...etc. HAHAHA :))

reporters who are not too friendly

I do not see how anything would ever change - the Heinous One never allows her audience to be anything but hand picked. No way will any of those vast right wing conspiricists be allowed to get near her. What are her thug henchmen for anyway? She has gotten away with it so far.

Republicans, be careful what you wish for.

and who want to replace him with a leader who can instantly command national attention, in the form of derision, revulsion, hillarity, comic relief and mostly hatred.

Edited slightly to include some truth.

To expand on your Clint Eastwood paraphrase:

What the RATs have to ask themselves is, Do we feel Lucky, punks?

She simply doesn't have the ability to spar with, say, Brit Hume, Tony Snow, Russert

They will each be indicted and convicted of invading her space -- ala Lazio.

This is GREAT news....it means that Daschle thinks that 1)..he might lose, and 2) the Dems haven't a chance in hell of retaking the seante..so he's gonna bail....the GOP will pick up 6+ seats....and oh yeah...Hillary will be stuck in the Senate floor all the time....competing with Nancy Pelosi for sound bites....

The Clintons are now shaking down the RAT Party. They effectively own it.

Nationally, the Clintons are the Democrat Party. They will never allow the light to shine on any other. Look how Hillary! upstages every Democrat Presidential hopeful at ever opportunity. She cannot allow any to challenge her ascendancy. Better for the Clintons to lose the election badly, if it leaves Hillary! in control.

After the 'Rats are done getting pasted in the 2004 Presidential and Congressional races, after they are reduced to a 43-57 minority in the Senate, Tiny Tom will have to go. At that point, nobody will be able to keep Hillary! from grabbing the reins. The Pubbies just must make sure the horse is already off the cliff by the time she gains control.

GWB understands. Never lift your boot off the neck of a snake.

Actually, I'm more worried about VICE President Rodham-Clinton. Think of it:

• She keeps he promise not to run for president in '04
• Two years and one day into her term the first slotter gets arkincided
• Under Article XXII, she can still run for two full terms as the incumbent
• The Hillary!™ Decade begins
• At the end of the Hillary!™ Decade there is a National Emergency "temporarily" delaying the elections
• Under the pressure of the National Emergency, the 2nd and 22nd amendments are repealed...

You better be careful what you wish for. Just yesterday on T.V. Bill Clinton was saying that he believes in death-bed conversions. I took that as a threat, cause he ain't no Baptist, no matter what he claims.

"GWB understands."

This is something the libs and the Bush-Bashers on this forum refuse to accept.
