See that's one of the many areas you and I are different. I spent most of my time learning and looking into esoteric pursuits that interested me.
Oh my! Heady, "esoteric" stuff.. filching music with file "sharing" utilities.. BUT, you claim to be over that since Amazon came to your rescue.
I guess you're now free to focus on curing cancer, world peace or some other pursuit worthy of your obvious talents.
I didn't need to get loud and in people's faces and threaten them with bodily harm. They understood quite well that getting physical with me would probably be a mistake they'd carry with them for the rest of their lives.
ROFL..
You're killing me.

I trird to use that new Apple pay-per-download music dealy and it completely bombed-out on my new Dell 2.26 GHz... I finally gave up in disgust.
Yeah, that won't work. You need to use iTunes to use the service. iTunes for Windows will be available around November of this year.
Apple's done a nice job with the store and the way that it's integrated into iTunes. I becomes an extension of your music library and makes it pretty easy to buy songs.

"MP3.com must be one big dung heap to you...."Oh, I suppose there may be a few corn kernels to pick out of the poop. It's just not the kind of place my musical appetite is apt to be satisfied. You may have the whole heap as far as I'm concerned. Enjoy! Share with all your friends!

". . . but there are some real gems like Red Delicious."For some reason I get the impression the RIAA is not going after everyone who's ever dowloaded and shared the music of Red Delicious. Let the band sign a wavier saying their music is free for the taking. Let's see how successful they become as everyone downloads and distributes their music without remuneration to the songwriters and performers.
Some artists and labels, however, understand the purpose and benefits of copyright laws. The RIAA seeks to assist them in preventing the unauthorized duplication and distribution of their music.

Though some may not heed the grammatical correction given by those who know the difference, such correction must still be provided for the few who will. Better to be on a bowling team whose members know the rules and, thus, can actually play the game than to be part of the crowd that believes that slinging the ball any old way and knocking down some pins is bowling because bowling involves the use of the ball to knock down pins.

You have to wonder about a man who in this day and age calls himself a conservative or minarchist and proudly posts under the name of a union leader.
Well, you're wrong about that also.
Just to clear this up (though it's become obvious to most any tenured FReeper already..) I am James Hoffa's Arch-Conservative doppelganger and I hate organized labor.

These RIAA thugs do not realize that for every visible server like Kazaa, there are a million servers around the world using software like opennap and slavanap and even IRQ servers still, many of them private. The files may go underground, but, they'll still be there. Best thing the companies can do is go with the flow and open up realistically priced music catalogues to the public via the internet.
