Why is this always based on race?
If "diversity" is necessary to obtaining educational excellence than all black college students are significantly less capable than their "diversified" peers or all Christian schools, all girls schools etc.

To the liberals in acadaemia, "diversity" is achieved when everybody in the student body looks different...and thinks exactly alike.

The unstated premises (fallacies) of diversity:

• Race can be identified – thus, race is quantifiable (a core concept in the “one drop principle” of the racist). There is no scientific basis for this idea. Race, unlike species, is a continuum.
• Race is an ornamental characteristic worth having a mix of – in this view, people are objects, whose variation represents an aesthetic pleasure for someone. A person’s value to others lies not in being an individual, but in being one of a type. To collectivists, people are like pigments in a painting.
• Race controls or overrides individual development to such an extent that members of a race have essentially uniform capability – that is to say, the capability of an individual is a racially determined characteristic (a core concept of racism). But studies have clearly shown that racial membership is only an aggregate predictor of performance, it does not predict the performance of specific individuals.
• Racial diversity is the way to attain diversity of opinion – because opinion and ideas are more uniform by race that diverse among individuals or roles (such that there are “black” ideas , “white” ideas and “asian” ideas) . In other words, a “black” executive and a “black” criminal have more in common that a “black” executive and a “white” executive; in this view, the diversity is again of types, not people: we must mix racially determined opinions and ideas to attain diversity.
