I strongly object to homeschoolers being forced to test at all. The government does NOT own my children and does NOT fund my school.

Have fun getting your kids into college. "Hey, my kids don't need to take the SAT or ACT!!! I swear they're well educated!" Yeah, good luck with that.

The problem is that there are some small number of home schoolers who are so paranoid about leftists and the social corruption in our society that they are willing to say: If it ain't in the Bible, it is wrong! And if it is the Bible, it is redundant. Therefore, the only book needed to teach from and learn is the Bible!

Which might have worked just fine in 1803, but is a great way of raising kids who are going to be a drain on the tax dollars of everyone else. Now my personal experience with homeschooling (and my kids are homeschooled) is that homeschooled kids are in general way ahead of public school kids.

[However, once they hit high school it is nice to be able to take advantage of the Honors classes, and the fully loaded science labs where the teachers have Masters degrees in the subjects they teach. I know darn sure my wife is not going to be teaching quantum physics, calculus, and AP biology, AP english, and AP chemistry when my kids hit 12th grade.]

I don't know about your state, but in NY homeschoolers are put on the top of the list. They're smart kids. The colleges know it, too.

If these educrat-fascists were really worried about kids growing up to be a drain on society, they'd focus on the kids who ARE in their government schools, which routinely turn out large numbers of completely ignorant, illiterate, and uncivilized young adults. The worst homeschooled kids aren't as bad as the worst government-schooled kids. As for the religious nutcase homeschoolers, at least they make sure the kids can READ -- so what if they've never read anything but the Bible; if they can read, then when they're grown up and out of the nest, they'll be ABLE to read other things.

BUT it appears you have no problem that the pubic skoos teach a onesided education such as Evolution ONLY, No religion, Abortion is moral, Homosexuality is just another NORMAL lifestyle, demonrats are right, GOP is wrong, US is a DEMOCRACY, not a republic, The Pledge of Allegiance is illegal and unconstitutional, In God We Trust should be removed from all Gov't monies, buildings, etc, Separation of Church From State is the 1st a Amendment, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin were not Christians, America was not founded on Christian principles, courts should not use the Bible to swear in those who are giving testimony, condoms should be used because sex is good and fun, and necessary for a healthy life and should not be restricted to married couples nor with members of opposite sexes, what you think is good and right, wrong and evil is up to you and no ne else, not even your parents, but public school teachers know better than your parents so listen to them and not your parents, and so on and so on.
