Evidently the anarchists have branched out from Eugene Oregon and moved north to Bellingham.
For those of you not familiar with Western Washington University it is a liberal arts school, known for its School of Education and it's very liberal campus. It sits like a liberal ulcer in the middle of conservative farming country.

I can't understand what he wanted except a sense of power.

Good grief. I used to live in Snohomish, a fairly conservative town. My daughter's ex husband is teaching at WWU, the last I heard, and he is certifiably nuts!

You can't pin this one on Eugene, this guy is homegrown (no pun intended). Probably a Huskies fan.
I doubt many of the Eugene anarchists are from there anyway. BTW, there are no statues of Stalin in Eugene.

It's not just WWU. My daughter is attending Bellevue CC and several of her profs are self-proclaimed leftists or crypto-leftists. The other day her political science instructor told the class not to watch Fox news. Earlier in the semester he was complaining about people who eat meat. So the whole Washington State higher education system is a spawning ground for these self-proclaimed "anarchist" freaks.

A search of Revak's dormitory room did not turn up any explosives No WMD's found? Government malfeasance! Free Revak!
(Wonder if I can get off my next speeding ticket if no WMD's are found in my car? Of, course, if a .50 cal rifle can be classified as an "assault weapon", then anything goes, right? Celine Dion CD's? Big Macs? <shudder> )

I would add that this school is also known for it's graduate school of Environmental Studies, The Huxley institute and it's large, visible gay student population, which increased dramaticly after Marijane Cammemeyer (I don't think that's the right first name) ran for Congress from this district.
The Western Washington campus dominates city politics and have managed to drive out the largest city employer, Georgia Pacific pulp mill.

Just for the record my younger sister is a prof in Econ and Canadian studies at Western...and she ain't a liberal. Almost any state funded school thesed days has a left tilt ( as well as the ivies)...Western does provide a reasonably decent education but as with most schooling ya gotta alert...and ulcer it ain't

I suspect if there's a big Republican electoral victory in 2004 you'll see far more serious domestic left-wing/anarchist terrorism similar to the Weather Underground in the 60s/70s, out of frustration, and much worse than the ELF stuff going on now.
Fortunately, most of these types are big-talkers/BS artists who won't actually do anything (as was true of the 60s, the number of ACTUAL terrorists out of the people who talked big about it was pretty small) but you don't need that many people to do damage, as we've seen.

if found guilty of threats to use a weapon of mass destruction.
Is that what it is coming to? Are we going to dumb down
the definition of 'weapons of mass destruction' to snare
anything that can kill more than one person at a time?
Already, I have difficulties with weapons our military
terms as 'weapons of area denial' being WMD. Guess
what those weapons are. They are chemical and biological
weapons. The only real WMD is nuclear.
With the new 'inclusive' WMD definition, OJ needs to
change his initials.

Good thing this guy is a student at Western Wasington University. If he had been a student at the Evergreen State College there wouldn't have been any student who would have turned him in.

Now I hope the Homeland Security Dept. gets its @$$ in gear and wipes out the den of vipers in Eugene!!

My husband has two degrees from Western. He had to be deprogrammed. : ) (And the deprogramming was successful, thank goodness)
