"With Bush as governor and all the changes to your school system, it's clear that Florida is at the forefront of the conservative movement," said self-described liberal Rob Levine, who maintains a Minnesota-based Web site, mediatransparency.org, to track conservative organizations.
Gov. Bush doesn't see any wide-ranging plot. He has long argued that Floridians are rejecting liberalism of their own accord because it's a failed political philosophy.
I think both of the above speakers are correct, in that FL has in fact become more conservative, but the true reason for that is the reason cited by Gov Bush.
We just had an election down here in the 2002 FL gov race, and FL voters could have tossed Gov Bush out of office if they wanted to - but they didn't.

It should be instructive to Conservatives who believe that we can get along with Liberals; that Liberals react to a well-known Conservative moving closer to them in the same way that they would react to a convicted child molester.
There is no getting along with them, they must be defeated everywhere.

Bush helped the effort, having stumped for Republican candidates. He also penned a book about the "cultural decline" of Florida, started up a conservative foundation of his own and joined Richard Scaife on the board of trustees of the Heritage Foundation.
I'd like to know what book the reporter is referring to here in the above sentence, since the book Gov Bush co-wrote did not focus on "decline," and was instead upbeat and celebrated people. It is available on amazon and is titled
Profiles in Character

But I would say there is still a big difference between liberal leaders and liberal voters, expecially in FL. Here in FL -- with registered Dems outnumbering GOP voters and independents being the fastest growing segment of the voting population -- the liberal candidates have been defeated so badly in recent, they now hold no power whatsoever except in a handful of counties on the east coast.

Then after you defeat them, you have to keep stomping them like a snake with a 100 lives.
What a bunch of Socialist Facists these moaners are.

Most conservatives don't realize that the lying lunatic libs are like vampires. You can't kill them by defeating them in elections. They just keep coming back and coming back.
Then some even after death continue to keep voting and voting for Rats running for office.

All of which is proof that the foundation is committed to advancing its mission of helping animals as well as people, according to Chairwoman Jennie K. Scaife, the daughter of Richard Scaife. She scoffs at the suggestion that she's a point-person for a national conservative movement, or even her father's agenda. "You gotta laugh," she said. "It's ridiculous. My father has nothing to do with this."
No, Jennie, you gotta cry: what EXACTLY would be the BFD is dad WERE trying to do conservatives' work through his organization? Don't be on the defensive: ask these commie-symp-liberal-pantywaists to tell you PRECISELY what is wrong with politically active people attempting to sway others to the right side of the aisle? The only ones who should enjoy freedom of speech are those with left-wing views? Ask them what their point is? DO NOT be intimidated by these whiny losers.

Is the reporter any relation to Lisa Caputo, well-known Clintonista?

Re your post #13 - I'm not sure, but I do know that Matt Drudge is in FL now.
