Interesting little fact: people in the O blood group are much more susceptible.

Hygiene is key to preventing this. Have a friend in w/ Arlington Fire & Rescue. His favorite saying...WASH YOUR HANDS. I think I'll buy more soap tomorrow. Yes..in fact most infections are transmitted through our hands... things we touch and pick up.
Washing hand and using one of those anti-bacterial hand cleansers in between can go a long way to protecting you from catching things that are "going around".

Do you mean well water or city water? Never drink hotel water.
To: Jorge
BTW, there is a antibacterial hand gel called Clear Defense that you can carry in your pocket or bag and use without water.

Light touches on door handles, don't touch walls unnecessarily, limit hand contact with tabletops.
Act as if any area with lots of people in it is a hospital corridor, and that you shouldn't touch anything unnecessary.

....then sanitize, sanitize, sanitize with that waterless hand sanitizer. Actually, I haven't seen anything saying sanitizer kills norovirus, but it does kill SARS, so why not?

>> Clear Defense <<
I'll look for this and pick some up. Thanks!

Yes. SARs and the other troublers are viruses. Clear Defense says it kills bacteria. So, rationally Clear Defense doesn't help. But, damn, it makes me feel better.

Carry a spray bottle of Tilex around, heheh.
To: appalachian_dweller
Unless it's a small community well, don't lose any sleep over it. If a well gets contaminated, people figure it out pretty quickly and then the situation has to be fixed. Norovirus makes you sick for a couple days, so if your home it's no big deal if you drink enough fluids. It just sucks getting it on vacation, like a resort or a cruise ship.
To: Calpernia
Very wise tag line. I've heard it before and try to live by it. Only problem I have is the sleeping part.
