Posted: June 6, 2003 at 12:20 p.m. (Undated-AP) -- Hustler magazine publisher Larry Flynt says he offered $50,000 for dozens of nude photographs allegedly showing former Scott Peterson mistress Amber Frey in the buff.
Flynt says he was approached by David Hans Schmidt, a broker in photos for men's magazines who claimed to have the rights to about 27 pictures of Frey, most of them nudes. The publisher says Schmidt wanted one-half million dollars.
Flynt says he was shown a model release form and he has verified Frey's signature. Flynt faxed a copy of the model release to Frey attorney Gloria Allred.
Schmidt's Arizona telephone rang unanswered today. He told Fox News he got the photos through "connections."
Allred says Frey hasn't authorized anyone to publish the photographs.
Allred says of the 29-year-old single mother of a two-year-old daughter: "She's upset and offended that anyone would try to profit from such photos and this is hurtful to Amber and she has been in tears over it."
