Richard Carmona, the surgeon general of the United States, has said he would support the abolition of cigarettes and all tobacco products, the first time that such a senior public health official has taken that kind of stand over the industry. Tobacco prohibition is as stupid an idea as there is, but I would love to see it happen for one simple reason:
To watch the city/state/federal agencies that derive their income from tobacco taxes shriek their greedy little heads off.
