I think he can make one point without brushing away the fact that she lied. I heard him mention that briefly before I had to get out of the car. And no, I don't believe any of them should have gotten off scot-free. So, yes, same rules for both. But because the Enron guys got off doesn't mean it's OK that Martha did. Anyway, she's an old stock broker - she knew better...

The Enron case is just taking a long time to get everything together before they can proceed. I live in Texas and was in Houston when the collapse took place. Enron had entities in many states and many countries. It's not like all the info for the case is in one place and they can start a trial within at a moments notice. Ken Lay will do time.

I'm not sure what your point is, but I don't doubt that everyone with any financial or power interest in this country ignores the markets. But I believe that's a separate issue. Martha Stewart made a stupid mistake, and if she lied about it, and it can be proven, crying "scapegoat" by her supporters doesn't make it right.

I don't like her, either. In Fairfield Co., Conn., where I grew up, she is about as popular as Leona Helmsley. She has used people crassly for decades - gives success a bad name.
