DUBAI, June 1 (Reuters) - At least one American soldier and two Iraqis were killed in a grenade attack on a U.S. tank in central Baghdad on Sunday, al-Jazeera television reported.

The network, quoting its own Baghdad correspondent, said the attack occurred in front of the city's main mosque. It said several more people were wounded. There was no immediate comment from the U.S. military.

or is it a terrorist who resorts to orthidox guerilla methods? For example--those that attacked the USS Cole were terrorist but the act of attacking a combat vessel is not an act of terrorisim....

The act was not on a “combat vessel” – it was an Al-Qaida sponsored attack on AMERICANS. They where terrorists, terrorism was their weapon.

The act of dropping cluster bombs onto Baghdad is considered an act of terror too, right? The act of including civilians in the acts of war is terrorism too, right? The act of an American-sponsored attack on SERBIAN civilians or Baghdad civlians is an act or form of terrorism, right? Of course.

The network, quoting its own Baghdad correspondent, said the terrorist attack occurred in front of the city's main terrorist center, a mosque.

Repeating something I wrote yesterday ....

The world-wide "I don't want to think about it" evasion about the war on terrorism will result in far more economic damage if it is not accepted -- soon -- that the enemy is an unchecked and highly supported wing of Islam.

Until that fact is accepted, and then vigorously addressed, the war on terrorism will be lost -- as in Vietnam, where the real enemies were China and Russia.

The USS Cole is not a combat vessel???

That’s not what I said – try rereading it and imagine the word SPECIFICALLY.

I read what you wrote. It was simplistic.

This looks like them.

Add for those keeping score, both al-Qaeda and whatever is left the Baathist Party in Iraq appears to have formalized into Kiada al-Makauma ve al-Tahrir al-Iraqiyyah to deal with. They are led by an exceedingly dangerous member of al-Qaeda's military committee brought in from the Pankisi Gorge named Abu Iyad.

Regarding whether this is terrorism or guerrilla activity, the difference is largely one of semantics in this instance. The fact remains that the folks attacking our troops in Iraq adhere to the same worldview and organization as those that attacked us on 9/11.

At least our soldiers aren't forced to patrol Washington, D.C.

If they were, the casualty rates would be much higher.

to find something which has not been found- WMD. Where are they?

Everyone say it together with me now...

Saddam Hussein hasn't been found YET either, does that mean HE didn't exist???

And I'll say this again too: We are STILL finding huge caches of weapons in Afghanistan, and we've been there for over 19 months! It takes TIME to scour a country the size of California, ESPECIALLY when you are still being ATTACKED every single day!!

I hate to be a whiner, but these stories are making me mad.

If just ONE grenade attack happened in America, on either civilians, military, or empty buildings, the wrath of Rumsfeld would come down so hard and so fast...

I don't understand why we aren't putting the hammer down, big time, on these continued attacks in Iraq. We need to stop pussyfooting around and worrying about being PC and not offending the rest of the world. Besides, who are we worried about offending? After all, the countries that were our primary hurdles to the war in the first place appear to be complicit in Iraq's UN violations. We need to STOP these attacks on Coalition troops and innocent bystanders. NOW.

but, but, but--- Rice, Bush and Powell and Co all stated they have evidence. If you have positive evidence, you will know where to go locate what you are looking for. Easier to hide a person than all those thousands of WMD. Additionaly, where is the proof, the pics or whatever form they say they have? Hiding behind the classic line "national security" BS?

The SOG on duty at the time was my Marine Corps D.I of Bravo Company - 1st Bn - Parris Island. He was thrown over 200meters in the air he said. He did not even have a chance to chamber a round as the "RoE" had him to call on the PRC and then follow the chain up.
