Evidently the Modesto Police Department and the DA didn't think it was theft; nobody was arrested.

They stated it was a civil matter; and I, for one, am glad to see the Rochas stand up and stop taking crap from Mark Geragos and the Petersons.

Yeah, the Modesto police stood by and watched so it MUST be ok...

I seem to recall lots of instances where the police just 'stood by' and let things happen - such as the destruction of the 911 Memorial Fence, since it was 'Private Property', - that must have ben legal, too. or maybe how the police stood by and watched Christopher Kime get beaten to death in the Mardis Gras celebration in Seattle - I guess that means beating people to death is leagl too...

My point is, just because the police stand by and watch something happen, it doesn't mean it's not a violation of the law - it could mean it's policemen who are not clear on the law... sad to say, that's happening more and more in recent decades :(
