Apparently you are unaware that the DoD TAPES every interview and provides a complete transcript. This has been Rummy's policy since long before the war on Iraq.
Apparently Vanity Fair's reporter wasn't aware of this, or didn't realize it would be posted on the DoD web site.
It is not an interpretation. It is an actual transcript from the DoD. Vanity Fair's reporter was just on Fox backtracking.

I was listening to the Chris Core show on the way home from work and he read the transcript. The fact is Vanity Fair flat out mis-represented and twisted Paul Wolfowitz's words. Look for a major retraction from Vanity Fair, but the damage is already done. Stories are racing around the globe that this administration lied to the world

Apparently you are unaware that the DoD TAPES every interview and provides a complete transcriptLike that's ever stopped a politician in that city from having something twisted. And as I said perhaps I could have been mistaken on his exact comments. However even in the DOD report, Wolfowitz still states it was a settle on one issue, not the issue. If it was the issue and WMDs are not found, then is the war on Iraq a success?
