Condi, but only if she takes over for Cheney when he steps down for health reasons after the 2005 inauguration, so she can get some VP experience. She would trounce Hilllary in every category: intelligence, verbal abilities, foreign policy expertise, gravitas, good looks, etc.

Her Veep? I doubt it'd happen, but someone like JD Hayworth of Arizona. Someone who's sharp and not a stiff, and has plenty of experience on the Hill.

Yep, Rice/Hayworth. They'd get my vote for sure.

You cannot be serious. Hayworth is my Representative and I like his politics and will continue to vote for him. However, on a national level, he comes across as an unelectable blowhard who has no more chance of winning for our side than does Al Sharpton on the left.

How many sitting vice presidents have been elected president? Only 3. Two, if you don't count Adams, who was elected VP under a different, pre-12th Amendment system--and was not George Washington's running mate.

The other two were running mates of Andrew Jackson and Ronald Reagan. GW hasn't even been re-elected yet--much less qualified to have his picture on the currency . . .

Condi has no serious (governor or commanding general) executive experience, and isn't presidential timber if she doesn't get that experience. And VP is NOT an executive position.

No, look to the governorships. And there the biggest name at present--remember, GW came out of nowhere to be an outstanding governor of Texas--has to be the governor of Florida. IMHO

Great answer. What do you think of JEB. I don't think country will elect them back to back. I was thinking Condi/Jeb. I Like your reasons for Hayworth though

Au contraire! I'd have to disagree about Cheney stepping down! In fact, unless his health drastically turns for the worse; I think HE would be a great candidate! Not that I have anything against Condi, not at all. However, she would make a great vp to him, and would gain governing experience.

But if she ran for governor of Cali., she would get that experience also! She's just as smart, or more so than Hillary(though I must give Hillary her due!); she would learn quickly. She would also be a strong v.p. to take over for him should anything happen suddenly to him.

But back to Cheney. He's even healthier now, than when he ran with Bush last time. He's much the same mind as Bush. I think he'd make a great president! I do remember reading that Pres. Johnson had a heart attack many years before he became pres.; and look how far he got! He went from sen. to v.p. to pres.

If he could do that way back then, Cheney can do it too! There's a lot better technology for heart care than they had back when Johnson had his heart attack.
